Sydney Sixers x DG Designs: Celebrating a Decade of WBBL
The Sydney Sixers marked the milestone 10th season of the Weber WBBL with a collaboration that honoured the club's past and present stars. Partnering with renowned Australian artist Dominique Gauci of DG Designs, the Sixers unveiled custom art pieces celebrating ten beloved members from the past decade, including former players Lisa Sthalekar, Sara McGlashan, Marizanne Kapp, and Sarah Aley, current stars Alyssa Healy, Ashleigh Gardner, Erin Burns, and Lauren Cheatle, captain Ellyse Perry, and inaugural coach Ben Sawyer.
Prince Sports & Entertainment supported the campaign through PR and media relations, securing coverage that highlighted both the artistic collaboration and the club's WBBL legacy. The partnership announcement positioned the Sixers as a club that values its history while celebrating women's cricket in a unique and culturally relevant way. DG Designs' work, known for being 'geometrically cool meets pop culturally defined,' brought a fresh visual identity to the season celebration.
The collaboration gave fans tangible access to the club's history, with 250 limited edition prints distributed free across four home matches at North Sydney Oval and the SCG. The November 10 match at the SCG marked just the second standalone WBBL match at the iconic venue, building on the success of the previous summer's Stadium Series and reinforcing the Sixers' commitment to growing women's cricket at premier stadiums.
As one of the WBBL's most successful and welcoming clubs, the Sixers used the Season 10 milestone to celebrate the players and coaches who built the competition into the premier cricket format for women worldwide. The DG Designs collaboration showcased how women's sport can intersect with art and culture, creating moments that resonate beyond the boundary.
